Experience Sharks Up Close & Personal

Prepare to discover juvenile sharks up close and personal in a way you’ve never experienced before. Sharks are fascinating, magnificent, and very misunderstood creatures and this interaction will help you learn the truths and myths about the ocean’s top predators. To assist in the preservation of sharks, Coral World has recreated a shark nursery, offering juvenile sharks every opportunity to grow in a safe environment before being released into the wild. A portion of the proceeds goes towards shark conservation and research.

What to Expect

Meet sharks face-to-face in our Shark Shallows exhibit while wearing a mask and snorkel.
Watch sharks swim right in front of you to view their grace and power.
Learn how we care for these amazing animals and how you can help protect them in the wild.
Personalized photos of your experience will be available for purchase after your program.
Your participation in this program helps Coral World Ocean Park support critical marine life conservation efforts.

Restrictions & Requirements

Bring or wear: Swimwear with cover-up and a towel.

Participants must understand basic instructions in English in order to safely participate.

Participants must be able to manage a flight of stairs.

Our photographers will take photos of your experience. Photo packages will be available for purchase at the Go Fish gift shop following your experience!

Personal cameras, sunglasses, cell phones and other belongings can be stored in guest locker and are not permitted in program.

It made me a lot less fearful of them in the wild!

This was our second encounter at Cora World. 10 years ago we had so much fun with Reno the sea lion we wanted to do another experience this visit. We were excited that there were new dolphin encounters, We were too late to book. So my husband and I did the Shark Encounter experience. When we got there we were greeted by the shark keeper. She was awesome and you can tell she loves her job and the animals. We were also super lucky that we were the only two booked for that time slot. We got to meet three lemon sharks. There were also nurse sharks, but they were snoozing in their cave. No biggie, we were able to sink down and take a look at them taking a little nap. The lemon sharks were super cool to watch. There were very active and swam close to us. It made me a lot less fearful of them in the wild! We also had an iguana spectator the whole time!

Don't miss this amazing place

This was the most amazing experience! We learned so much and especially LOVED swimming with Remu! The guides were all amazing and our photographer for the Sea Lion encounter took such great pictures! The shark encounter was also so cool and love how those pictures turned out! Don't miss this amazing place when visiting St. Thomas!
