Coral World Ocean Park is coming back after sustaining two Category 5 hurricanes in two weeks.
We want to share with you how far we have come in the months since Hurricanes Irma and Maria visited. While our island and the park have not quite returned to our pre-hurricane state, you can enjoy a fun and fascinating visit to the park, and some time for lounging or swimming at Coki Beach. At the park, our friendly and knowledgeable staff will greet you and provide a guided tour. You will have the opportunity to learn about the effect of the hurricanes on our facilities, our animals, and the marine environment.
Hear what we had to do to prepare, how we rode out the storms, the aftermath and our future plans for rebuilding and improvements. And say hello to our current residents. Our Caribbean Reef Encounter, a recreated living coral reef, is home to some beautiful fish and other sea creatures. Our turtles are safe and sound and residing happily in new and improved quarters. Feed stingrays while learning about our shark and stingray “head start” conservation programs. On the nature trail, you will have the opportunity to feed our colorful Lorikeets and view red-footed tortoises. Attend a special presentation in our amphitheater with our macaws.
After your guided tour, you will have the opportunity to purchase beverages and snacks and souvenirs. And you can visit Coki Beach adjacent to the park and swim in crystal clear waters. Let all your family and friends know that you helped with the recovery just by your visit. Use the hashtag #VIStrong and #CoralWorld to showcase your adventures on social media.
